hello i 'm new one i have problem when i skinning by ngskintool, when i initialize the mesh my old weight skin missing and cann’t undo, before i skinning by original tool of maya .
Hi, what do you mean by “initialize the mesh”? Do you mean when you first create layers in ngSkinTools?
You have to be careful. After you have layers, you can’t use any of the Maya skinning tools, or ngSkinTools will override your changes.
Can you try to list out all the steps you are taking?

Fisrt i skinning by maya original tool, (maya paint skin weight tool), then i i use ngskin tool but when i assign layer or press paint to the mesh i chose it change every skin weight before (overdive).
So that mean, I cann’t use ngskin and paint skin weight tool (maya original tool) together right

Can you please paste a screenshot of your skinCluster settings? Like this:
- Normalize Weights should be “Interactive”
- Maintain Max Influences needs to be OFF. Or it needs to be high enough that your weights won’t get erased.

Please go into that shelf button (right-click and “edit”) and paste the contents of the command from that shelf button.

It’s strange that when you click that shelf button, the ngSkinTools window doesn’t open. So maybe that button is doing something different than opening the window. First the ngSkinTools GUI should open and nothing else should happen. And then you should be able to choose whether to make layers, or begin painting.
I think it is possible you already have ngSkin layers initialized on this mesh before you show painting the weights with the Maya brush.
i install ngskin tool manual, and i forget to add icon to it

And I don’t see any ngSkinTools window.
And you didn’t paste the contents of that shelf button command, so I have no idea what that button is supposed to be doing.
After you have created ngSkinTools layers, you cannot use Maya skinning tools, until after you have deleted your ngSkinTools layers.
If you do not have ngSkinTools layers, it should work. But I can’t tell from your video.
If you do already have ngSkinTools layers, any Maya skinning you do will be lost.

thanks you i understand more, i just wanna ask about the layer: layer will show the the influence weight of the joint to mesh right, but it reality, i mean i donn’t need to import layer or maybe some thing like that to skincluster exactly i want right.
