Macos installation problem

Hello everybody! I have a Mac Book Pro and I need Mgear for my 3D lessons. I cannot install the software even though I’ve tried following the YouTube tutorial videos. My main problem is that I don’t have the same paths/folder location as in the said tutorial video so I had to do it differently. No matter how I try to solve the problem by myself, I can’t seem to make it work. Does anybody else have encounter the same issues? Can somebody help me. This would my life. Thanks.

Hi Yunbao,

Don’t put it under the application folder. (You can, but don’t.) Put it in your preferences.

Library is hidden. So you likely have to hit Cmd-Shift-G in Finder to browse to a specific place. Type ~/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya and you should find it.

One of these paths should be ok. I’m pretty sure both would work:

~/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/2020/modules
~/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/2020/prefs/modules

If the “modules” folder doesn’t exist, you can create it.
