Mouth_01 orientation question

Hello, I’m going to ask a pretty silly question but I’m an animator trying to fill in as a rigger so please bear with me… :…)

My wish is to add a mouth rig to the Unreal mannequin template, as he has no mouth.

I’ve created the guide for the mouth, moved it into place in front of the head, and clicked build. However the jaw control seems to be wrongly oriented always, requiring me to push the control in towards the neck in order to make the jaw open/close. I think this happens because I am rotating the guide 90 deg to face forward (it comes in with the mouth facing straight up).

Maybe this is becasue I am in Z-up, and the mouth is built for Y-up? How do I correct for this?

Any help appreciated!
