Hi Developers,
I recently noticed that the ihi (isHistoricallyInteresting) attribute hides all DG nodes for transform nodes when the Step Type is set to Finalize. This step includes several processes, such as finalize
, postScript
, and collect_build_data
, which occur after Step 4—the joint structure creation.
I would like to suggest modifying the ihi behavior so that it is based on the Mode Type being set to Final rather than being directly tied to the Step Type set to Finalize.
Since we already have a Mode parameter in the root guide, which includes options like Wip and Final, and based on my review, it doesn’t appear to be used anywhere in the Shifter component, I believe this could be a meaningful improvement.
Additionally, if any modifications are needed in postScript
during Step 5 (Finalize) after Step 4 (joint creation), I would prefer that historically connected nodes remain visible until the Finalize process is fully completed. This would allow for necessary adjustments without hiding historical connections in the channel box.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this suggestion. Let me know what you think!
