RBF Manager - Unexpected movement in-between poses

Hello,

I’m using the RBF Manager to drive some volume joints for the elbow.
However, when I create multiple poses, instead of smoothly transitioning to the next pose the values on the volume controls goes back to zero before moving into the correct position.

Also the driven poses panel with all the values at each pose is not showing the correct values for each volume control. They all seem to display the same values.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

If you need anymore info please let me know.

Hello,

I’ve managed to find in the attribute editor the Radial Basis Function > Kernel and set it to Gaussian 2. That seems to have fixed the unexpected movement I was experiencing.

However, I’m working on the wrist at the moment and I’ve set poses for up, down, left and right. But when I twist the wrist the poses don’t fire and my volume joints don’t move to preserve the volume of the wrist.

Is there a way to create the poses so they still turn on even when the wrist is twisting?
I’m following the youtube tutorials but it seems like the RBF Manager doesn’t work the same as what is in the videos.

What is the proper workflow for the RBF manager?

As always thanks for any help and advice.

Get the latest mGear, including the latest RBF manager, which has been modified to work with two solvers. Miquel shows you how to set up RBF here:https://youtu.be/9bpB8EC5sPk?t=172

Hi Milio,

Thank you for your reply!
I believe I am currently using the latest mGear.
mGear 5.0.7 and RBF Manager v2.0.0

I’m basically doing what is done in the video you linked but I am not getting the same results.

you need the RBF manager 2.0.1. Miquel explains in the video about this new solver and why.

Okay thanks for the info!
The version that we downloaded was the latest release from here Releases · mgear-dev/mgear.

So do you know how I can get the RBF manager 2.0.1?

If I correct (hopefully), get the latest from here and unzip, overwriting your mGear folder.

I am still polishing a little the RBF manager. Next relase 5.1 will have the final version of all this changes.
Thank you for your patience.
