Hi,
Why doesn’t THUMB controls doesn’t follow THUMB guides orientation?
I already rotating the thumb root or having the the blade offset. but the thumb orientation is still too arbitrary.
Any workaround on this?

Hello @bentraje
It is not arbitrary, it is by design
let me explain…
The default guide behavior is only to use the position of the locators, not the orientation.
For the chains you have the Blade to control orientation.
For the behaviour you want, you need to use the chain component chain_loc_ori_01

Ah gotcha. Thanks for clarification.
I was using the default biped template and I guess it was using a different chain component.
Also jsut to confirm, the Blade parameter does control the orientation. I just have to modify it in relatively big values. I was doing it in increments, that’s why I thought it was not working because I couldn’t see the changes properly lol
we use the blade to calculate the normal vector. Think about it as the twist direction while the next locator represents the aim. It has his limitations, but the good thing is that is faster to place since orientation and scale is not taken in consideration.
