Wrist flipping after 90 degree

Hi
I was trying using mgear setup for wing and while rotating wrist more than 90 degree in Z directions its getting flipped .Any solution to solve this would be great help …

Welcome @aditi,

Can you please share more information? Screenshots, a video recording, or an example file would help. (I have changed your new account, so now you should be able to include screenshot images.)

And what Shifter component are you using for the wing, and the wrist?

hello Chris,
Thanks for the reply .I am attaching the image of the flipping wrist .
I have used “arm_2jnt_04” shifter. I tried using different shifter option but getting same problem.

Hello @aditi
The flip in that axis of rotation is a known limitation of the solver. It is possible to offset the flip in the other axis but is not exposed in the option and needs to be done manually.
I will check this issue and see if I can make something easier to configure.

Thank you Miguel for the reply.
I am also checking for some workaround. Can you give little brief on how to offset the flip manually?I saw just one twist joint is getting flipped.

You will need to navigate the graph and check the connections that drive the roll spline solver. I am sorry can’t give you better explanation now

no problem . :slightly_smiling_face:
