Disconnecting rig from skeleton for export

Our pipeline requires that our fbx files only contain joints. I have a mgear animation rig that has retargeted animation baked to it’s controls. The underlying skeleton is locked and driven by the anim controllers.

How do I do the following:

  1. Bake the animation control data to the skeleton
  2. Separate the skeleton from the animation control so that exporting the selected joints results in an fbx with only the selected joints
