EyeRigger and created Blendshapes

Is there a special reason why the EyeRigger does create a new BlendShape for each Target?
Does it make anny difference performance whise?

There are 4 blendshapes because there are 4 separate nurbs curves. An upper eyelid, lower eyelid, and then two mid-curves. Upper mid, and lower mid. The mid-curves allow the closed eyelids to stay closed, as the shape of the eye is changed. That’s why you can shape the eye, but it still blinks closed perfectly.

For performance, it won’t be a huge hit, because it is just 8 nurbs curves.
