It would be nice to add an option to add a name that you want displayed in the host attribute.
For example, I want to use EPIC_spine_cartoon_01 for the tongue!
The problem is that I can’t rename it to “tongue.”
That would be a nice feature. But what do you mean by “can’t”?
I’d redirect you to this thread with a workflow I’ve used to rename some attributes to be more readable by editing ./mgear/shifter/component/__init__.py
Or you can rename it with a Python post script. Or maybe the channel wrangler tool, but I am not familiar with that tool.
This is what face UI looks like to me right now.
There are quite a few attributes, which are all clearly separated, thanks to an adequate name. Only the tongue remains the spine. Imagine if I had two tongues and some extra rig on my face; they would all be called spines, and then I wouldn’t know to whom the attributes belong.
I also used another eyebrow system chain_variable_IK_01 which is also called “chain” in UI.
It would be practical to be able to highlight through the component what I want it to be called within the UI
