Rig slow but can be fixed by turning off then on the evaluation manager

Hello,

We have issues with some rigs created with mGear 4.0.9 and Maya2020.4.

They are really slow. We found a workaround which is to set evaluation mode to DG then back to Parallel, but it is a bit cumbersome to do, and each animator has to do this for each new scene opened.

Please find attached a gif presenting the “fix”.

Thank you very for your help,
Best Regards,
Maxence

Check this post. There is a script to find out which nodes might be blocking parallel evaluation:

Otherwise, you’re going to have to use the profiler, and dig in and find out what the botttleneck is.

Hello @chrislesage

Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately the script detects no blocking nodes…

When you say “profiler”, you mean the profiler of Maya ? Or is another profiler ?
I have never used it and I don’t think our rig artists will understand either.

Yes, I mean the Maya profiler.

Then you and your team might get an immense value out of this course:

Or you could start by reading this article:

Roger that. Thank you very much for those pointers, we will have a look at those ! :grinning:
