I have not been able to find if anyone else has this need. I’m also not sure if this is a bug or a future request

I have noticed this as well. There, perhaps, is nothing in the code that takes this Uniform Scale checkbox into account when connecting that scale driver node. Thanks for the screenshots and labeling you did!! It helped me out.
In the end I solved it with a postscript, although I wouldn’t complain if that process was automated during rig creation
