Using Maya 2024, mGear 4.2.2. and Metahuman exported via the Bridge option, Shifter guide template sample for EPIC Mannequin Template Y-up. Snapping the pivots automatically via the Metahuman snap function.
After building the rig there is noticeable offset on the axis of hand joint and controls, making animation a bit harder. I understand that matching axis orientations might be a tricky within a module, but since these are the Metahuman default skeletons, this issue could affect anyone trying to animate them with mGear rigs. To clarify, there is around 15-20 degree offset on the wrist axis.
I came across a similar topic Matahuman Guide IK / FK Hand axis doesn't match the guide orient before build - #2 by VP_TD, but wanted to ask for any workaround ideas as this does look like a bug and fixing it might be not straightforward.
I’m curious if anyone has ideas for a temporary fix with custom python script - pre/post build. I’m open to any suggestions.
